Update #1 - May 30, 2024



Hey everyone! Here's the very first devlog update for Mirage Noir.

First of all, I just wanted to thank you for all the support. I've been completely blown away by all the support so far. Glad you're all liking it so far, we'll work super hard to make sure future updates are just as interesting as well!

Now for what you're here for:

We'll be working on releasing a first demo in June/July. It'll be around 10k words and cover the first half of the prologue. Ideally we can finish before July 1 so we can submit it for otome jam, but, well, life happens! So we'll see if we can make that deadline.

Upon its release, we'll also be opening up the Kickstarter prelaunch page as well as beta signup forms for the second half of the prologue. Here's our current planned events before the Kickstarter:

  1. First demo released, gather feedback
  2. Beta demo released to people who signed up, gather feedback
  3. Public beta demo released around a week before the Kickstarter launches
  4. Kickstarter
  5. (hopefully) Profit

As for how far we are in the first demo:

  • Backgrounds: 100% (actually, most of the bgs for the full game are done. we might add more depending on funding)
  • Music: 100% (same as above)
  • Writing: 100% (unfortunately not same as above... around 80% of the first draft of character routes are done, and then the 2 truth routes need to be written. Keep in mind that that number is the first draft)
  • Editing: 100% (nothing past the demo)
  • Programming: 100% (same as above)
  • Sprite Art: 75% (haha)
  • CG Art: 25% (hahahaha 0%)
  • GUI: 90% (we'll hopefully show off what the gui looks like next week. it's super cool!)
